My 17 month old son has MRSA, and his antibiotics are almost gone.. Question?
My 8 year old son had an MSRA infection when he was 6 months old. He was in the hospital in quarantine for a week. After that he stayed on antibiotics for awhile and then he was fine. My understanding is that MSRA is a bacteria that is found all over the place. We are exposed to it all the time but if you are basically in good health and exercise basic safety precautions, hand washing etc, the bacteria is less likely to cause an infection. My doctor did tell me that once you have MSRA in your system it never goes away but that doesn't mean you'll have infections all the time. I keep an eye on my son whenever he has any kind of cut or sc but in 8 yrs he's only had one recurrence of an infection. I hope this puts you at ease a little. I know how scary it can be but I think if you go to the doctor they should be able to help you and your son.
