Parents, I'm gonna be completely honest here, & I need your opinions?

Okay, well - I married a nutritionist. She's lived her life on a diet full of fresh veggies & fruits, she's in great shape. When i met her i was in good shape myself, but i did eat junk. Being with her has resulted in me changing my ways of eating & exercise, and now, since we're raising our kids to eat right - it's become a problem to my mother. We hardly have chips and cookies in the house. I have NO problem against junk, it's just that I'd rather see my kids having fruit, instead of digging into doritos. Anyways, my mother's on a good diet ( I ume - she lives in florida, i personally think it's best we keep our distance) but when she talks to my kids ( I have two eleven year old boys, & one 7 year old girl) she always asks what'd you guys have for a snack? They love Celery & Peanut er so that's what they have often. She always has a problem with that, and when she gets back on the phone with me, it's " Why don't you let them live a little? Buy them a pack of cookies and soda, let them be kids. What if they were at a party and their friends were eating chips and soda and they asked for Celery or Apples?" First of all, they have drank soda and ate chips - but we do it in moderation. If one of them gets a good grade or succeeds in something, yeah, i'll go out and let them pick out a bag of chips. It's just that I would rather them eat healthy, and keep them active. She also has a problem with one of my 11 year olds being on a soccer team since he was 8. He loves it, and she thinks it tires him out too much. If it tired him out too much, don't you think he'd say something? I have asked him and he said he'd rather be with his friends playing soccer. He's told her that and she says to him stop lying. The way she is so criticizing is one of the many reasons I'd rather her stay in Florida. Growing up, she was the same way - I improved my eating habits, and she'd pressure me into eating something I shouldn't. When she visits (rarely) she has a problem with what's in our cabinets & fridge. We have Whole Grain bread, fresh fruit & vegetables, and she'll go out and bring back soda and chips. I've discussed it with my wife & she's speechless herself, now, parents, I would like your 100% honest opinion. What would you do?
